2013 in (P)REVIEW!

Linky Parties warm my heart and here's one to help me get refocused and re-energized as we head into 2013.  This time of year brings lots of talk of making resolutions, setting goals, reordering priorities, etc. I am so thankful for the wonderful blessings God gave during 2012 and I look forward to 2013 with anticipation of all the good things in store!

I'm linking up with Michelle from "Making It As A Middle School Teacher" and her "What's Ahead in 2013" party:

What's ahead for you in 2013? Link up with Michelle and leave me a comment letting me know you did - I love getting to know the blogger behind the blog :)

    1. Hi Hilary!
Yes, all of my scrapbook supplies are a little out of control. I need a room just for it! :)

  2. Lots of great goals. I'm curious about the intelliscanner. I just looked it up online and it sounds great. Do you currently have one? Or do you know someone who uses it? I have a huge classroom library and it sounds like it might be a great thing for me to purchase.

    1. Hi Heather! I do have one - and it's amazing! If you order through the website, they give a $20 teacher discount. I am going to make it a goal to work on entering my books at least one afternoon a week. I also have quite a collection and it's a little daunting to begin, but I know that in the end, it'll be worth it. All you do is scan the barcode of the book and it automatically enters the title, author, publisher, copyright date, number of pages, and a short summary. The books are collected on an Excel-spreadsheet-type document. You can even set it up where students check out books on the system, but for right now I'm just using it to catalog what I have (and how many copies of each).

They have a mini version and a classic version - I have a classic.

If a book is not in the system (usually if it's too old) then you have to manually enter the information in. It's easy to use and really helps keep things organized.

I'm even thinking of training one or two very dependable students to help me with the project.

  4. I definitely need to work on blogging a few times a week and getting more things uploaded to TPT. It's so hard to do with life being hectic sometimes. I hope you have a wonderful New Year! :)
